AI SEO and search visibility
Does ChatGPT recommend your business?
More customers now ask ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity or Google's AI answers who to hire, and the rest still search Google and pick from the map. Some businesses show up in both. Most don't, and they can't see it happening.
We'll run the searches your customers use and send you a free report: who gets named and ranked instead of you, where the assistants get their answers, and what to fix first.
Day one
Aug 13
We asked ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google's AI 11 searches a customer would type. BlueSail wasn't named once, and it wasn't on the first page of Google for any of them.
2 weeks later
Aug 25
ChatGPT named BlueSail for the first time.
4 weeks in
Sep 8
ChatGPT named BlueSail in 3 searches, citing our St. Augustine pages.
5 weeks in
Sep 15
Perplexity started naming us too, in 4 of 7 St. Augustine searches. BlueSail reached #6 on Google for “need someone to build custom software near St. Augustine FL.”
6 weeks in
Sep 24
ChatGPT and Perplexity each named BlueSail in 4 of 7 searches. On Google we were #5 for that search and showed up in the map results.
And it's still going. The agent checks every week, and it's now working on Claude and Google's AI answers.

The fix list, in order
With time estimates, and step-by-step instructions for the quick wins you can do yourself.
Organic traffic
How this brings you more customers from search.
Showing up where customers look comes down to a handful of levers. The agent measures every one of them for your business, every week, and tells you which to pull next.
The map results
For local searches, Google's map results sit above everything else and take most of the clicks. Getting into them comes down to one complete Google Business Profile with the right categories and services, steady reviews, and no duplicate listings. We track your map position for every search, every week.
A page for every search that matters
Google and the AI assistants both prefer a page written for exactly what someone searched, like “catch-up bookkeeping in St. Augustine”, over a homepage that mentions it in one line. We find the searches you have no page for, and show you the competitor pages winning them.
The searches people already use to find you
Your Google Search Console shows the real searches your site appears for, including the ones where people see you and don’t click. Those are often fixed with a better page title and description: the fastest traffic you can win. We also measure how many people search each term, so effort goes where the demand is.
Authority from other sites
Google ranks businesses that other sites link to and mention. We count the sites linking to you against your competitors’, and list the specific directories and articles that mention them and not you.
Being named in AI answers
AI assistants recommend the businesses they find described across the web, and ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google’s AI answers link to the sources they cite. Getting onto the listings and articles they read gets you named, and linked.
Measured in clicks, not just rankings
Every weekly report shows impressions and clicks from Google Search Console next to your rankings and AI mentions, so you see whether more people are actually finding you, not just a score.
Every week
Everything the agent watches for you.
Not a dashboard you have to interpret. The agent checks all of this, works out why you're missing where you are, and turns it into a short list of what to do.
AI answers
Your searches asked of ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google’s AI Overviews, from your city, with every answer saved so you can see what was said about you in any week.

AI SEO questions
Questions.
What is AI SEO?
Making sure AI assistants like ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google’s AI Overviews know your business well enough to recommend it. It overlaps with regular SEO, but the assistants lean heavily on directories, reviews and articles about you, not just your own site.
Why doesn't ChatGPT recommend my business?
AI assistants name the businesses they can find described elsewhere: directory listings like BBB, Yelp and the local chamber, roundup articles, Google reviews, and pages written about each service and town. A business that's missing from those rarely gets named, however good it is. The report shows which of those you're missing.
Will this get me more traffic from Google?
That’s the goal. We work on what brings people to a local business from Google: showing up in the map results, having a page that matches what people search, page titles that get clicked, and other sites mentioning you. Every weekly report shows how many people clicked through to your site from Google, so you can see the change for yourself.
How long until I see results?
Listing and profile fixes often show within a few weeks. New pages typically take 4 to 12 weeks on Google, and links build over months. The weekly report shows each change as it lands.
Who is this for?
Businesses where one new customer is worth a lot: home services, clinics and med spas, professional services like bookkeeping and law, and online stores. If people search for what you do and ask AI who to hire or buy from, it applies to you.
Do you work with online stores?
Yes. For a business that sells nationwide, we run the searches shoppers use (“best”, comparisons, gift searches) from across the United States instead of one city, and look at the review sites, roundup articles and marketplaces the assistants lean on.
Is the report really free?
Yes, one per business. No cost and no obligation. It includes the quick fixes with instructions, and many businesses can do those themselves.
Do you need access to my website?
Not for the report, Tracking or Guided. The done-for-you plan needs access, because we make the changes on your site. If the site can't support them, we'll say so and quote a rebuild before any work starts.
